These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Litora mobile application and the web portal at litora.in (collectively, "Litora").
By accessing or using Litora, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the platform.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use Litora. If you are under 18, you represent that you have the consent of a parent or legal guardian to use the platform.
By creating an account, you confirm that all information you provide is accurate, complete, and current.
2. Your Account
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- Impersonation of any individual, organisation, or institution is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account termination.
- You may not create more than one personal account without explicit permission from Litora.
3. Content Ownership and License
You retain full ownership of all original content you publish on Litora.
By posting content on Litora, you grant Litora a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to host, store, display, distribute, and make available your content within the Litora platform and its associated services. This licence exists solely for the purpose of operating and improving the platform.
You represent and warrant that:
- You own or have the necessary rights to the content you publish.
- Your content does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.
- Your content complies with all applicable laws.
4. Content Standards and Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to post, share, or transmit content that:
- Is illegal, defamatory, obscene, hateful, or discriminatory on the basis of race, religion, gender, caste, nationality, sexual orientation, or disability.
- Contains spam, unsolicited commercial messages, or pyramid schemes.
- Involves plagiarism or misrepresentation of another person's work as your own.
- Impersonates any person, institution, or brand.
- Contains malware, viruses, or any code intended to disrupt the platform.
You also agree not to:
- Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from Litora without authorisation.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform or its systems.
- Use Litora for any purpose that violates applicable Indian or international law.
5. Webinars, Events, and Live Features
When participating in or hosting webinars, conferences, or live events on Litora:
- You are responsible for the content you present or share during the event.
- Litora may issue certificates of participation; these are for recognition purposes only and do not constitute formal academic credentials.
- Recording of live sessions by participants without host consent is prohibited.
- Litora reserves the right to remove or suspend any event that violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines.
6. Intellectual Property
The Litora name, logo, design, and all proprietary platform components are protected intellectual property. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use Litora's trademarks, logos, or branding without express prior written consent from Litora.
7. Disclaimers
Litora is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses or other harmful components.
Litora is not responsible for:
- The accuracy or reliability of user-generated content published on the platform.
- Content posted by third parties that may be infringing, offensive, or incorrect.
- Loss of data due to technical failures.
8. Termination
Litora reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or applicable law.
You may delete your account at any time through the account settings in the app. Upon deletion, your data will be permanently removed within 30 days in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Litora shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or reputational harm, arising from your use of the platform.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. Continued use of Litora after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of India. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts located in West Bengal, India.
